Williamstown An attractive white Victorian house built in 1880 with room to spare; this was turned into a sparkling B&B in 1989 by Kim Rozell and Lucinda Edmonds. “I cook and Lucinda cleans,” quipped Kim at our first visit. Both perform their functions to perfection, although now they share the duties and sometimes switch roles. Kim's breakfasts are feasts, taken at a table for eight in the dining room. Start with fruit, cereals and homemade baked goods, but save room for the main course – perhaps blueberry pancakes, waffles, baked eggs or cheese blintzes. Spinach pie and oatmeal scones were treats when we last were here. Lucinda's “cleaning” is evident throughout the house. Besides the comfy living room outfitted in a crisp, almost contemporary style, there are four spiffy guest rooms with updated baths and comfortable wing chairs on the second floor. Two rooms have queensize poster beds, a third has a double bed and one has two twins. White cotton comforters top each bed. Appointments are a blend of antique and modern, with an emphasis on oak furniture, mini-print wallpapers with vivid borders and a refreshing absence of clutter often associated with Victoriana. Typical of the caring touches are the bottles of Poland Spring water in each room. The personable hosts, who do all the work themselves, seem to know everything there is to know about the area and share their enthusiasm with guests.
